Common FAQ's when renting from Coastal Flamingo Carts on Anna Maria Island

Renting a golf cart is fun and exciting! No more worrying about walking to the beach carrying a heavy cooler or driving to that amazing restaurant and worrying about finding parking. However, our street legal cars do have a few rules and regulations to keep in mind. 

  • Yes. All drivers need a valid drivers license and must be 25 years or older to drive the golf cart. 

  • Yes, all of our carts are street legal but can ONLY be driven on roads that are 30 mph or less. If a road has a higher speed limit than 30mph carts a not permitted to drive on them per Florida state law. 

  • No. The carts are not permitted to leave the island or go over bridges. Failure to follow this rule will result in an immediate pickup and no refund. ***However there is one exception- Customers are allowed to go over the Cortex Bridge but must NOT go past Tide Tables restaurant as the speed limit increases to 45 mph.

  • Yes, all of our carts have seatbelts and each person must be wearing a seat belt when the cart is moving.

  • Our carts have extended batteries. On average a fully charged battery lasts about 50-60 miles. The entire island is only 7 miles long, so you'll have no problem driving around without worrying about the battery going to low. 

  • We understand things come up and plans change. A full refund will be provided if cancelation happens 30 days or more before the reservation start date. If cancelation happens within the 30 days leading up to reservation, only a credit will be given for the amount that has been paid. Credit can be used for up to 1 year from cancelation date. If CFC needs to cancel your reservation for unforseeable circumstances a full refund will be given. Need to cancel or change your reservation? Give us call anytime!

  • Yes, all reservations require proof of insurance for each driver. 

  • No. Delivery and pickup are completely free. Picking up the cart yourself from our shop is not permitted. 

  • No. Anna Maria Island does not allow carts to drive anywhere but the legal roadway. Carts are not allowed on beaches or sidewalks.
